What a poignant illustration of the Tower in action in a real life! Your description of Maud Gonne inspires us to meet the Tower head-on, not to shy away in a false narrative of "the comfortable life." Even much of what she worked for was wrapped up in literal towers falling: poorly built tenement houses collapsing. With the world in a literal Tower moment now, as the cracks in the empires we call civilization widen under the continued pressure of our industrial lifestyles, we need reminders of such Tower-embracers who have and continue to work whole-heartedly to tear down the structures that are failing the world, to make a better life for everyone, not just the privileged few.

Thank you for taking the time to comment - Maud Gonne is such an inspiration for living a purpose-led life in service to others. Her huge contribution has been somewhat eclipsed by her connection to W.B. Yeats, though that is changing now.
